Project Description:
This book was created over the course of two weeks as part of an artist residency at Gate 44 in Milan, Italy. The book combines film photography, screenprinting, and linocut methods. I started by printing out my film photography, cutting out the main shapes and fitting those pieces together to create larger abstract forms. I used those forms to inspire the screenprinted pages along with the linocut-printed cover. The writing of the book is a unique combination of several poems by Jasmine Barnes, reconfigured to tell a story that suited these photos.
